Grand Prix Nova - International Radio Drama and Short Forms Festival ONLINE
Bucharest 01st – 30th June, 2020
Due to Coronavirus Pandemic evolution, this year the Grand Prix Nova will be hold online.
Rules and regulations
Prix Nova is
a festival organized by the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation.
The festival is competitive and is open to broadcasting organizations
and independent producers.
A. Aim of the festival
Grand Prix Nova aims to attract radio drama productions from all over the world. We are particularly interested in rewarding innovative artistic works that explore new approaches to radio broadcast.
We like to define innovation as the artistic trend that reaches to the new generations by finding more efficient technical and esthetic approaches to deliver its message. That artistic product that „breaks into” the market or society.
B1. The Grand Prix Nova ONLINE festival begins on June 1st, 2020.
B2. The entrant must download the REGISTRATION FORM and resend it (as *.doc file) completed email@example.com until May 15th 2020.
Notice! In the Registration Form each entrant must designate the author/producer or any other person involved in the production to participate at the video-conference debates (the online video calls will take place on Facebook Messenger so the person designated must have a Facebook account linked with Grand Prix Nova Facebook account). In case there is no representation, the production will be automatically disqualified.
The audio files uploaded during the registration process will be POSTED ONLINE (WWW.GRANDPRIXNOVA.RO AND WWW.ETEATRU.RO ) for the listening sessions at Grand Prix Nova.

B3. The preliminary selection of the programs will be concluded by 15th May, 2020 and all the candidates will be informed by email about the results as soon as possible.
C1. ELIGIBLE PERIOD
All professional radio drama programs are eligible for entry in the 2020 awards competition, provided that they:
1. Were produced or first broadcast between June 8th, 2018, and April 10th, 2020.
2. Programs submitted at previous editions are not eligible for new submission.
3. Conform to the categories listed below
The categories for the Grand Prix Nova are :
1. Radio drama
2. Short forms
3. Binaural Drama*
C3. NUMBER AND LENGTH OF ENTRIES
Entrants decide in which category they want to compete and state their decision in the registration form.
Each entrant can participate with:
1. In Radio Drama category - an individual broadcast that may not exceed 60 minutes or maximum of 2 broadcasts, each registered separately, with a total length of up to 100 minutes;
2. In Short Forms category - a maximum of 2 broadcasts, each registered separately, no longer than 10 minutes per program. ARS ACUSTICA radio pieces are also welcome;
3. In Binaural drama category – an individual broadcast that may not exceed 60 minutes or maximum of 2 broadcasts, each registered separately, with a total length of up to 100 minutes;
C4. JUDGING AND AWARDS
will be judged by a Jury. The Jury is formed by but not limited to
prominent radio experts and professionals from stations and companies
around the world. Entries are judged for production value,
presentation of information, creativity and use of the medium. A
short list will be announced by the jury the day before the awards
Now, when the budgetary effort of all is directed to the control of the pandemic, the festival is in solidarity with these initiatives and cancels the prizes in money at the 2020 edition of the GPN. We will reward eatch category winners only with diplomas, understanding how important it is to offer through the festival confidence and hope to the isolated citizens at home.
C5. For practical reasons, the official language of the festival is English.
C6. Programs that have already been presented at other festivals are also welcome.
C7. Programs should not contain advertisements.
C8. The entrant agrees that the organizer of the festival may use up to three minutes of the program submitted for the purpose of promoting the Festival.
C9. The organizer reserves the right to make a preliminary selection according to the following criteria: how the program meets the basic requirements of the festival, quality of the program, entrant's quota and date of receipt.
C10. An entrant whose program has not been admitted to the contest will be notified of the decision.
C11. All entrants will be officially notified of the decisions of the jury.
D. DISPOSITION OF ENTRY/ERRORS & OMISSIONS
and materials submitted may be displayed, shown, duplicated,
published or reproduced for educational and/or promotional purposes

appropriate. By entering, the entrant agrees to hold Grand
Prix Nova exempt
from any costs or expenses of any claim arising out of any such
Entrants have the option to not have their entry shown in its entirety on our websites by exercising the option listed on the online registration form.
Grand Prix Nova assumes no responsibility for the acts or omissions of those individuals or entities submitting entries pursuant to this notice. All submitting entities and/or individuals are advised to review submissions with respect to correct name credits and other information.Registration of an entry with the Grand Prix Nova # 0nline 2020 Festival implies full acceptance of all these rules and requirements.
